Graylan Ventures is a senior advisor to GrowFL for the Manufacturers Business Growth Program, an initiative with Florida Makes to assist CEOs, presidents or business owners of second-stage manufacturing, biotechnology, research & development, or engineering businesses who are looking to grow their company or address challenging business problems.
GrowFL was created in 2009 as an economic development program focused on assisting second-stage growth companies to prosper in the State of Florida.
The Manufacturers Business Growth Program is designed for companies between 10 and 100 employees, generating $1 million to $100 million in annual revenue and who have a desire and intent to grow beyond second-stage. By providing strategies, resources and support to second-stage companies for next level growth through Strategic Research, Peer Learning and Leadership Development, GrowFL helps companies overcome obstacles to growth and leads them towards prosperity.
Graylan Ventures’ specific role is to recruit manufacturing firms into the program on a statewide basis and advise them throughout the process.
In its first year, the program has recruited 30 manufacturing companies to the program resulting in 28 CEO Roundtable engagements and two Strategic Research engagements. More than 195 manufacturers were served through the program. Preliminary results indicate that these companies have already generated nearly $18 million in new or retained sales within the first 6-12 months of completing the program.
Based on the philosophy of Economic Gardening® — to grow existing businesses in a community, region or state — GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute, is a critical component to the state’s economic development strategy and Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
